European Ambassador to Mongolia, Mr. Traian Hristea visited Khuvsgul aimag on 22 May and was inspiring to witness the evolution of beneficiaries from EU-funded projects. Jinst Murun LLC has been receiving support from the “Trade related assistance for Mongolia” (TRAM) project, implemented by GOPA. The company has already exported yak wool products to Italy and is planning to expand in more EU countries introducing European standards throughout the whole value chain. It is also one of the first Mongolian companies to use the EU’s Registered Exporter system.
TRAM has also set up pilot combing fences with corridors in two soums in Khuvsgul to improve raw material collection and support women’s involvement in the process.
Jinst Murun LLC has also benefitted from the EU-funded “Support to employment creation in Mongolia, Component 2: value chains” (SECIM 2) implemented by UNIDO for the fibre and leather value chains. The project focuses on promoting sustainable manufacturing in line with environmental and quality standards, and contributing to decent employment creation.
