Mr. Damdin Tsogtbaatar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia is welcomed by European Commission President Jean-ClaudeJuncker during his attendance at the European Union and Mongolia Joint Committee Meeting in Brussels on Monday 23rd April 2018.

The parties exchanged views on further steps of enlargement of the partnership and cooperation between the European Union and Mongolia and the opportunities to achieve long-term and effective cooperation between the EU and Mongolia. President Jean-Claude Juncker remarked that the European Union will place a strategic importance for ensuring a sustainable partnership with Mongolia and expresses his readiness to support any advancement and development of Mongolia. President Jean-Claude Juncker stressed that it is important to strengthen the cooperation using the relations mechanism of both Parties effectively.  

Furthermore, EU Commissioner for Trade Ms Cecilia Malmström received Mr Damdin Tsogtbaatar, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and they discussed the current situation and future perspective of trade and investment between European Union and Mongolia. They exchanged views on the current status of benefit from the EU GSP+ system and agreed to further cooperate to improve and increase access of Mongolian products to the EU market covering the stages from production until reaching customers and creating new employment in Mongolia through supporting the development of SMEs.
