Dornod border - The last of the series of workshops arranged by the EU-TRAM Project for Mongolian Customs Administration took place in Dorond Customs House on the 4th of June 2021. Due to Covid restrictions, this event was delivered online. Customs learned their new important role in controlling the accuracy of the statement of origin made by companies registered for exportation to the EU, Switzerland and Norway in the REX (Registered Exporter System). In order to make controls effective, Customs should develop the risk management system, develop the plan of controls and - most importantly - understand rules of preferential origin. Customs were provided also with information on the Pre-arrival information, European Customs response to Covid-19 and role of advance ruling introducing binding tariff and origin information system in trade facilitation movement.
