In June 2019, several workshops on the role of customs’ in implementing the WTO TFA were organized by the Mongolian Custom General Administration and the TRAM project of the |European Union. A total of 115 officials participated in the series of workshop held in Ulaanbaatar, Selenge province and Zamiin-Uud border points.
Facilitators provided information on general principles for each of the provisions of the WTO TFA as well as specialized training on the following topics:
Role of Customs in Facilitating Trade
Opportunity to Comment (Article 2.1)
Penalty (Article 6.3);
Pre-Arrival Processing (Article 7.1);
Risk assessment (Article 7.4);
Authorized Operator (Article 7.4);
Post Clearance Audit (Article 7.5);
Border Cooperation (Article 8);
Temporary Admission (Article 10.9);
Transit (Article 11);
Customs Cooperation (Article 12).
At the end of each workshop, the International Cooperation Division of the Mongolian Custom General Administration disseminated useful handbooks, guidelines and relevant documents to the customs officers.
